If you’re looking for a place where you can connect, grow, and truly belong, HBBC is ready to welcome you. Come on over and become part of our family!

We have several elderly, shut-ins and members that need our care and support. A visit, phone call, or a card of encouragement would be appreciated!

Attitude of Gratitude

Matt Shyrock

Honoring Matt Shyrock

This week, we are thrilled to shine our Attitudes of Gratitude spotlight on a truly invaluable member of our church family: Matt Shyrock. For years, Matt has been a dedicated cornerstone of Hollywood Blvd Baptist Church, embodying a spirit of selfless service that is evident in every corner of our ministry. He has invested countless hours as a leader in vital programs like Awana, nurturing the next generation of believers with his consistent presence and faithfulness. Matt doesn’t just attend; he actively builds, demonstrating what it means to be a servant-leader in the truest sense. His commitment is a quiet but powerful force that makes our church thrive, and for that, we are deeply thankful.

Matt’s dedication is perhaps most visible in his crucial work with our Media Team. As part of this vital group, Matt is an essential component that ensures our technical needs are consistently met. There are many committed servants on the Media Team, and Matt is a key player, working diligently to make sure the worship team sounds good, the presentation slides look good, and that all the necessary behind-the-scenes elements run smoothly. His technical skill and reliable presence are a blessing that allows the entire team to succeed in their mission, ensuring our congregation can focus on worship and the Word without distraction. Beyond the sound booth, Matt is always one of the first to volunteer on work days, serving alongside us to maintain our physical campus. His willingness to take on any task, whether high-profile or humble, is a testament to his servant’s heart and unwavering commitment to the body of Christ.

Above all, Matt Shyrock is a genuine example of a Godly man. His faithfulness extends into teaching and spiritual leadership, sharing his wisdom and deep understanding of Scripture with both the men’s group and during Sunday morning Connect Life Groups. Matt is committed to studying the Word and diligently works to spread the Word, not just within the church walls but in his everyday life. We want to take this moment to offer our heartfelt gratitude for everything he does—whether he is teaching and leading a group from the front, or working as a vital part of the team in the background, making sure everything comes together seamlessly. Thank you, Matt, for your extraordinary faith, service, and dedication to Hollywood Blvd Baptist Church.

MISSIONARY OF THE MONTH

We will get to know our missionaries so we can better pray for them and support them.

Our December Missionary is

Tim Lee

Tim Lee Ministries

Missionary Spotlight:

Tim Lee was born and raised in southern Illinois to John and Wanda Lee. His father pastored Southern Baptist Churches for 60 years.

Tim was an athlete in High School, playing basketball, football, baseball and track and field. He set records in the long jump and hurdles. He played one year of college basketball.

On March 8, 1971 while serving in the United States Marine Corps in South Vietnam Tim gave both of his legs to America. Instead of quitting or becoming bitter God used this major event in Tim’s life to propel him into a ministry that no one could have imagined at that time.

Tim pastored for five years in southern Illinois. He understands the rigors, challenges and difficulties and the blessings of being a pastor. He has spent the past 45 years in active ministry as a full time evangelist. He has preached in all 50 states and numerous countries around the world. He has addressed thousands of local churches, Christian schools, public schools, civic organizations, veterans organizations, corporate events, colleges and universities as well as hundreds of special patriotic events.

Tim Lee is known as the “Legendary Speaker” at MCRD Parris Island, where he has spoken to tens of thousands of Marines and Marine Recruits since 2013.For 28 years Tim and his family hosted one of the most exciting teen camps in America called YOUTH ALIVE where thousands of lives were changed.

Tim Lee has a contagious zeal for revival and a fervent desire to win the lost to Christ. Since 1979, he has flown over six million miles to bring a strong message of revival, powerful Biblical challenges to the family and a sobering message to the staggering moral and social needs so prevalent in our society today.

Tim Lee is not your “typical” evangelist: in appearance—he speaks from a wheelchair—however most people, within the first five minutes of listening to Tim, forget all about the wheelchair and they are honed in on the message.

SPECIAL NOTE FROM THE HBBC SECURITY TEAM

Security Protocol

For the safety and security of our congregation, both church entrances will be locked 10 minutes after the commencement of all services. During this time, our security personnel will conduct patrols of the property, ensuring all doors are secure and monitoring the safety of children within the Children’s Building. The doors to the Children’s Building will also be secured.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the men who volunteer their time and service to our security team. Your dedication is invaluable. We also wish to send a special thank you to Wally Hammond for heading the security team.

We are currently seeking additional volunteers to join our security team. If you are able to assist in this vital role, please speak with Pastor Jonny.
