Church Constitution & Bylaws
and Proposed Changes

Dear HBBC family,

For some time, we’ve recognized the need to update our Church Constitution and Bylaws. Our deacons and pastor have prayerfully worked to revise these documents to better reflect the needs of our church today.

The proposed changes uphold all of the fundamental values that are central to HBBC while also addressing the current needs and ideas of our community.

We have provided two documents for your review: the original text and a second document with all the proposed changes highlighted. Please take the time to review these materials thoroughly. We will be holding a vote on these changes during next Sunday’s service.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Attitude of Gratitude

Hollywood Blvd Baptist Church
Deacons

We are absolutely thrilled to honor a group of true champions who are the very backbone of our church family.

Our deacons and their wives are tireless servants, working both in the spotlight and behind the scenes. They are on the front lines, sharing their wisdom in teaching, leading our financial teams, and standing with Pastor Jonny on Sundays.

But their incredible work goes so much deeper. They are our church’s heart and soul, the vital link that connects our congregation to our pastor. They are constantly praying for our church, for Pastor Jonny, and for every single one of us. They care for us, they guide us, and they keep this body of Christ moving forward. Their dedication is immeasurable, and we could never truly express our gratitude for all that they do.

It is with immense joy and honor that we recognize them with our Attitudes of Gratitude.

Please join us in celebrating:

Carl and Sandy Johnson

Clay and Kelley Hudson

Tom and Eva Curlings

Todd and Tracy Sheldon

James “JT” and Sandy Thomson

MISSIONARY OF THE MONTH

We will get to know our missionaries so we can better pray for them and support them.

Our October Missionaries are

Mr. & Mrs. Guillermo Aguilar

Missionaries in Managua, Nicaragua

My wife and I both got saved at an early age but dedicated our lives to the Lord in our youth. God called us to serve Him and after getting married in 1989, we both decided to go and study the Word of God at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina, a ministry which had a great impact in our lives.

In 1991 my wife and I were studying God’s Word at the WOL B.I., when we decided to serve God full time as missionaries. Then, He called us to serve in Costa Rica, our home country. For fourteen years the Lord allowed us to enjoy serving in that Country, with a team which was such a great blessing to us, people whom God put together for the great task that in that time we were able to accomplish by His Grace.

In 2002 the Lord began to lay a burden in our hearts for the country of Nicaragua, and an increasing desire to go and serve Him in that place. After years of praying, we arrived at Managua on October 30th 2007, to start the Word of Life Nicaragua ministry. For the next 14 years the Lord allowed us to serve in that beautiful Country, and we are deeply thankful to God for this wonderful experience, starting and developing a new ministry and a missionary team. During those years God gave us a wonderful group of young Nicaraguans who now conform the WOL Nicaragua staff.

At the end of 2018 God showed us it was the right time to start a leadership transition to a new ministry director in Nicaragua, Alex Schoures. He was one of our first disciples when we came to the Country. Him and his wife Erika were growing in leadership and responsibility, and it was a natural development for them. This allowed us to serve more on a regional role, and WOL assigned us to oversee the WOL teams in Panama and Costa Rica as well.

However, in December of 2020, God had a huge surprise for us. He opened the door through our leaders in WOL in the U.S., to take the position of Home Office Director for the International Ministries Division in Tampa, Florida. After much prayer and seeking advice, we realized this was the next step God had prepared for us in our missionary career. So, on March 15, 2021, my wife and I moved to Florida to start this new adventure.

Praise the Lord for this wonderful opportunity and please pray for us as we continue to help build our part of the Body of Christ as we serve our international team.

Guillermo & Mayra Aguilar

SPECIAL NOTE FROM THE HBBC SECURITY TEAM

Security Protocol

For the safety and security of our congregation, both church entrances will be locked 10 minutes after the commencement of all services. During this time, our security personnel will conduct patrols of the property, ensuring all doors are secure and monitoring the safety of children within the Children’s Building. The doors to the Children’s Building will also be secured.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the men who volunteer their time and service to our security team. Your dedication is invaluable.  We also wish to send a special thank you to Wally Hammond for heading the security team.

We are currently seeking additional volunteers to join our security team. If you are able to assist in this vital role, please speak with Pastor Jonny.
