WELCOME TO HBBC

Welcome to Wednesday Night Small Groups! This is more than just a midweek gathering; it’s a chance to refuel. We come together to study God’s word, share in prayer, and build the kind of deep community that encourages and blesses one another. We’re so glad you’ve chosen to spend this time with us.

VERSE OF THE MONTH:

“Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Proverbs 3:9-10

When we think about what it means to honor the Lord with our wealth, we might consider our money, time, talents, and resources. Proverbs 3:9 instructs us to honor God with our substance. This matters because how we use our resources reflects our values and faith. Giving God our first fruits signifies that we recognize Him as the source of all our blessings. It is more than just money; it touches the core of our hearts and the way we prioritize our lives.

HBBC is a Family of Brothers & Sisters

We believe you were never meant to walk alone. God has given us each other—a family of believers who can understand and support you through the ups and downs of life. That’s what being a church is all about: an encouraging and uplifting community.

If you’re looking for a place to belong, we invite you to join our family. We can’t wait to meet you!

A Simple Way to Show You Care

We have a number of church members who are elderly, homebound, or simply need a little extra care and support. A visit, a phone call, or even a card can make a world of difference and let them know they are not forgotten.

If you would like to reach out but need an address or phone number, please contact the church office or Kelley Hudson. Your simple gesture could be the highlight of someone’s day.

A New Sunday Morning Series

Do you ever feel like you’re too broken, too flawed, or too messed up for God to use? The good news is, that’s simply not true! God’s power is often most evident in our weakest places. Just as a broken crayon can still make beautiful art, God can use our broken pieces to create a life of purpose and meaning.

Join Pastor Jonny for our new sermon series, “Broken Crayons Still Color,” starting this Sunday at Hollywood Blvd Baptist Church. This 4-week series will explore how God uses our past hurts and current struggles to bring His love and light to the world.

Wondering if you have Nursery? Simply find the “Volunteer Schedule” under the “Ministries” section and you will find the latest Nursery Schedule as well as the Usher and Security Schedule. To help ensure these ministries run smoothly, please be 15 minutes early. If you want to volunteer for any of these ministries, please see the church office.

It’s true that our giving can help address important needs. But that’s not the most significant thing about our giving. More meaningful is how it’s drawing our hearts toward God, storing our treasures in heaven, and empowering us to serve him over serving money (Matthew 6:20-24). And the most important thing about our giving is how it brings glory and thanks to God (2 Corinthians 9:12).”

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

SPECIAL THANK YOU
Todd and Tracy
Get ready to be inspired, church family! It’s time for our Attitude of Gratitude recognition, where we shine a spotlight on the incredible hearts right here in our congregation. And this time, we are overflowing with joy to honor a truly remarkable couple: Todd and Tracy!
Todd and Tracy are more than just familiar faces; they are pillars of our church community. You see them on the finance team, Todd serves as a devoted Deacon with Tracy by his side, and they took on the exciting challenge of leading our young adults’ small group on Wednesday nights. The church staff also wants to give a special shout-out to Tracy. We can always count on her to read the bulletin, and that simple act means so much to us!
The words people use to describe them speak volumes: great friends, trustworthy, and a loving couple who can offer solid, biblical counsel that always keeps God at the center. They are the kind of leaders you can count on—always ready to lend a hand. Plus, we’ve got a trustworthy mechanic in our midst with Todd and an amazing hairstylist with Tracy! How cool is that? They are funny, and most importantly, they are faithful—a true lighthouse in a dark world.
Let’s give a huge round of applause and a massive thank you to Todd and Tracy for their unwavering dedication and for being such a bright light in our church family! They truly embody the spirit of service and gratitude.

PRAY FOR OUR MISSIONARY FAMILIES

MISSIONARY OF THE MONTH

We will get to know our missionaries so we can better pray for them and support them.

Our September Missionaries are

Mr. & Mrs. Jim Horne

Missionaries in Mombasa, Kenya

Jim and Susie Horne have served in Kenya for over 30 years. They raised their family in Kenya and started multiple ministries which are thriving. They have three grown children who have brought them the delight of being grandparents!

Jim and Susie felt a call in their lives to touch the lives of unreached people groups in Kenya. They have done so through starting numerous schools, feeding centers, churches, a Bible college and dug wells in communities. Jim and Susie have profoundly touched thousands of lives in Kenya!

“SPECIAL RECOGNITION”

Contact the Church Office to reserve your special Sunday! We now have “Special Recognition”. Each month the money collected for Special Recognition will go to the Missionary of the Month as a special gift.

The Power of Small Group Bible Study

Wondering why small groups are so important? They’re more than just a meeting—they’re a place where faith comes to life. Here are a few reasons why we love them:

  • We Minister to One Another: Small groups are a safe space where we can support, encourage, and pray for each other.

  • We Dive into Scripture: We don’t just read the Bible; we dig into it together, asking questions and exploring its meaning.

  • We Apply God’s Word: Our discussions help us understand how to apply biblical truths to our everyday lives.

  • We Grow in Our Faith: By studying together, we deepen our understanding of God and experience the power of vibrant prayer.

Join us for our Small Group Bible Study on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM. We’d love for you to be a part of what God is doing in our church!
