WELCOME TO HBBC
Welcome to Wednesday Night Small Groups! This is more than just a midweek gathering; it’s a chance to refuel. We come together to study God’s word, share in prayer, and build the kind of deep community that encourages and blesses one another. We’re so glad you’ve chosen to spend this time with us.
VERSE OF THE MONTH:
“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord,
and whose hope the LORD is.“
and whose hope the LORD is.“
Jeremiah 17:7
This passage encourages complete reliance on God and His guidance, rather than solely on one’s own wisdom or understanding.
HBBC is a Family of Brothers & Sisters
We believe you were never meant to walk alone. God has given us each other—a family of believers who can understand and support you through the ups and downs of life. That’s what being a church is all about: an encouraging and uplifting community.
If you’re looking for a place to belong, we invite you to join our family. We can’t wait to meet you!
A Simple Way to Show You Care
We have a number of church members who are elderly, homebound, or simply need a little extra care and support. A visit, a phone call, or even a card can make a world of difference and let them know they are not forgotten.
If you would like to reach out but need an address or phone number, please contact the church office or Kelley Hudson. Your simple gesture could be the highlight of someone’s day.

It’s true that our giving can help address important needs. But that’s not the most significant thing about our giving. More meaningful is how it’s drawing our hearts toward God, storing our treasures in heaven, and empowering us to serve him over serving money (Matthew 6:20-24). And the most important thing about our giving is how it brings glory and thanks to God (2 Corinthians 9:12).”
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

SPECIAL THANK YOU
Ronnie Spaid
Ronnie Spaid
We honor a remarkable individual whose quiet dedication and selfless spirit embody the very essence of service: Ronnie Spaid. It is with profound gratitude that we recognize Ronnie for exemplifying an Attitude of Gratitude here at Hollywood Blvd Baptist Church.
Ronnie is far more than a dedicated member of our congregation; he is a steadfast servant of this church. For almost two decades, he has answered every call for help, never knowing how to say ‘no’ when a hand was needed. From ensuring our doors close properly to maintaining complex AC systems, there is scarcely a part of this church that hasn’t benefited from his skilled hands and unwavering commitment. His tireless efforts in repairing and maintaining our facilities have been a true blessing.
Beyond his practical contributions, Ronnie is a true man of God, a loyal and dedicated friend to all who have the privilege of knowing him, and an inspiration to us all. We cannot adequately express our gratitude without acknowledging his pivotal role as a key worker in the years we operated the food bank, ensuring everything was meticulously prepared each time we served our community.
Ronnie, your servant’s heart and unwavering commitment are deeply cherished.

PRAY FOR OUR MISSIONARY FAMILIES
MISSIONARY OF THE MONTH
We will get to know our missionaries so we can better pray for them and support them.
Our August Missionaries are
Mr. & Mrs. Russ & Lynn Turner
Missionaries in Costa Rica
The Turners have been missionaries in Latin America for over 45 years. They established multiple churches in Costa Rica, and have extended their ministry in Latin America by taking the Gospel and Biblical training to hard-to-reach areas with Indigenous populations who are unreached or under-reached. Russ & Lynn continue to multiply their ministry by training Indigenous leaders who can reach their own tribes with the Gospel.
“SPECIAL RECOGNITION”
Contact the Church Office to reserve your special Sunday! We now have “Special Recognition”. Each month the money collected for Special Recognition will go to the Missionary of the Month as a special gift.
The Power of Small Group Bible Study
Wondering why small groups are so important? They’re more than just a meeting—they’re a place where faith comes to life. Here are a few reasons why we love them:
-
We Minister to One Another: Small groups are a safe space where we can support, encourage, and pray for each other.
-
We Dive into Scripture: We don’t just read the Bible; we dig into it together, asking questions and exploring its meaning.
-
We Apply God’s Word: Our discussions help us understand how to apply biblical truths to our everyday lives.
-
We Grow in Our Faith: By studying together, we deepen our understanding of God and experience the power of vibrant prayer.
Join us for our Small Group Bible Study on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM. We’d love for you to be a part of what God is doing in our church!
